Can’t Curb Enthusiasm for the Mediocre

Sometimes when I’m excited about something, I get Really Excited: Like a Kid going to Disneyland Excited; Night Before Christmas Excited. I love the adrenalin and anticipation of something I know will be great.

That’s because if it’s up to me, I take any experience that has the potential of being great, and I make it Fucking Phenomenal. I know this ahead of time, so when I’m looking forward to something I have good reason to become that excited.

What I dislike is when I get excited about something because I can picture how great it is, but someone else with a smaller vision is in charge (or flakes) and I get disappointed.

I’ve recently realized that not everyone is like me. I’m extreme: Extremely extreme. I’ve been told that a lot lately.

Does that mean that everyone that does not live up to my idea of excellence is mediocre? (Most likely) Or does it mean I need to lower my standards?

I’ve been told that maybe I shouldn’t have expectations of situations or people, and then I wouldn’t be let down.

There’s some truth in that, but how sad is having “No Expectations?” That’s like having No Standards at all.

When I look at it that way, I realize that yes, if you’re expectations of excellence are less than mine- to me, your standards are mediocre. This is not a bad thing for you, it’s just an indicator for me to either curb my enthusiasm or take care of plans myself.

  1. What the fuck are you talking about?? What is Extremely Extremely extreme?
How extreme do we have to get before people start cutting off limbs and lighting themselves on fire?

Cant people just cum and enjoy it and let that be it already? What more do we need?
    jesus…

  2. I meant extreme less in a sexual way, and more like I’m outrageous in my personality. I dress flamboyantly, I love adrenaline- skydiving etc, and I like people to be creative. I dont like to “hang-out” I like to do extreme things.
